2 person welded aluminum expedition row boat

Jaxoncraft 19' work boat for
Triton Logging in Malaysia

Jaxoncraft deep-V offshore 24's are easily recognized by their well tailored classic lines and high quality finish. Years have been devoted to hull design and computer assisted construction methods to render a very tough and capable off shore boat that can deliver a fast, comfortable crossing in west coast conditions.

The ¼” bottom plates are designed with a stabilizing section aft of center (non-constant dead rise area) and a long, sharp forefoot up front to penetrate heavy chop. They are heavily reinforced from within to resist punishment and keel sections have wide ¼” doublers fully welded to their bottom. Chines are full length and are 10 degrees reversed for holding the boat in turns and diminishing any spray.

The round cornered transom can facilitate dual or single power applications and the splash well is canted and drained through large corner scuppers. A stout swim-grid and boarding ladder are provided for swimmers and rear access while trailering.

All Jaxoncraft aluminum hulls are acid washed and painted with hi-build two part chromate etching primers and Endura urethane topcoat. This provides a very tough and smooth finish for years of protection in the rough salt environment.

Topsides are acid washed and primer coated properly before being “Zola-toned” and epoxy clear coated with a u-v resistant finish. Specific areas are then prepared and heavy duty grip tread is applied for high traffic use.

The decks are fitted with 1” stainless steel hand railings that extend forward up to the bow for safety while walking. Three 8” cleats are welded to each side deck and are placed for easy access to facilitate docking and one is placed on the forward deck for anchor tie-off. The anchor roller is 3”x5” and is custom turned from Delrin stock. It's supported within a strong 3/8 aluminum box for impact resistance to the bow area of the boat.

The rode locker is large, drained and can be supplied with a powerful anchor winch controlled by a foot switch on the foredeck

A 40 x 28 x 8 fish well is located in the rear deck and is fitted with a stout lid which sits on rubber pads supporting it flush to the floor area.

The large, grip treaded wash away deck drains through ample corner scuppers to clear water and debris and an inspection hatch is provided centrally over the 100 gal. - 3/16 aluminum fuel tank for access to electrical fittings and fuel delivery systems.

Floatation (4200 lbs.) is provided by polyurethane spray foam applied over a heavy barrier coating of aluma-clear beneath the 3/16 plate decks. Drain channels, outlets and bilge pump are provided for water dispersion given that unlikely event.

Access to the sitting height cuddy is through a lockable door in the forward wall. A tinted Bomar hatch (13 x 17) is centrally located above the hidden porta-potti situated between the two large bunks. One large compartment and two side shelves are available as storage areas within the cuddy. Upholstered 4” foam constitutes the two 6' 9” bedding areas. Reading lamps are supplied and stem from the overhead panels.

Helm and mate stations are atop very large storage chests and are provided with sliding chairs on swivel platforms. Forward seating is well up and behind properly positioned foot rests and hand rails. Vision is unimpaired through bronze tinted windshields below and lexan screen above. Heavy duty pantograph wipers are supplied for both positions on separate switches.

Rearward seating is immediately behind the forward stations and once again provide convenient storage beneath themselves.

Instruments are laid out in an orderly and ergonomic fashion on the dashboard and surround the hydraulic steering pump assembly. Engine controls are submerged laterally into the cockpit walls and meet the hand comfortably. A deck for GPS and sonar screens is placed below eye level and beyond the top of the dashboard yet easily in view.

Two more self draining compartments make up the aft section of the boat and hold the two batteries, the 4 position battery switch, the deck wash down pump, fuel line shut offs, blower assembly and Bennet trim tab control unit.

Drained shelves on each side of the cockpit area hold small gear for easy access.

Above and behind the drop curtain of the foldable canvas top stands the radar arch assembly. It is fitted with eight rod holders, a radar platform, satellite antennae stations, anchor light station, two traversing flood light stations and forward holders for the net and gaff. All are powder coated for a durable, lasting finish.

As can be seen in the pictures provided, no effort has been spared to create a tough, timeless fishing craft of classic lines that will stand beside and often beyond the best the aluminum boat industry has to offer. Quality of design, construction and finish is paramount. All craftsmanship is guaranteed and of the highest quality.
