Jaxon Craft entered the boat building scene in 2001 by responding to a demand for custom quality which was not being met. Clients of Jaxon Craft can specify any number of details and participate in the overall design of their boats. This level of client involvement is just one of the many things that sets Jaxon Craft apart from other boat builders.

Each Jaxon Craft boat shows a fine attention to detail. In terms of overall design, the balance and stability of a Jaxon Craft deep V Hull has proven superior out in the big water. Boat enthusiasts who want a superior product built with integrity come to Jaxon Craft.

Robert Jackson

Robert Jackson was raised in the Comox Valley and started his working career as a motorcycle mechanic in 1976. In the 1980’s, a machining hobby resulted in Jackson becoming an accomplished gun smith. He added marine mechanics to his repertoire in 1990 and in 1994, he leant his mechanical, machining and welding skills to Fan Seafoods and became their Fabrication Engineer and Shop Foreman. During his time with Fan Seafoods, Jackson developed innovative technology for the burgeoning Aquaculture Industry.

In 2001, recognizing Jackson's skill at fabricating and welding, a local sportsman asked Jackson to custom build an aluminium boat. What started off as a one-time project soon turned into a demanding new full-time career for Jackson when others saw the quality of craft he was able to produce.

What sets Jackson apart from other boat builders on the West Coast is the degree of precision, passion and pride he takes in building and customizing aluminium boats. Jackson has accordingly kept his business to a two-man operation so that he can oversee every detail in the construction of his boats.

TESTIMONIALS

2007 marked the end of our quest for our ideal boat, and the person to build it for us. We'd spent two years dreaming, sketching, surfing the Net, and finally, visiting local builders of aluminum boats. Some build beautiful boats, but only offer specific models, others cater to the commercial sector, and some do quality custom work but not within our budget. Then we met Rob at Jaxon Craft. Within minutes it was obvious, here was a most capable builder, producing a quality product one boat at a time. He would be able to devote all of his efforts to us and our boat, a level of attention and customer service that is almost impossible to find in bigger shops. Three months later and we've taken delivery of the boat we'd dreamed of...only better. A  custom 24ft X 8'6" centre console powered by twin Yamaha F115's, delivered on time and on budget. The quality of workmanship and attention to detail are what one would expect from only the best builders on the Coast. We can't imagine wanting a different boat, but if we do...we'd want Rob Jackson to build it.

"I am the privileged owner of the first 24 foot Jaxoncraft boat. It is great to take the kids out and go exploring hidden coves and beaches and swimming. The kids can take refuge in the V-birth when the fishing gets hot. A great fishing boat with all the details well thought-out. Huge fish box, a radar arch for your net, gaff and rods. I've had it on the West coast in 3 meter swells all the while feeling safe and impressed by the handling of this craft. The self-bailing features make the clean up a snap with a hose & brush or pressure washer. You don't have to worry about cleaning this boat when you're filling it with salmon, halibut, crabs & prawns. The size of this boat makes it perfect for hauling on a trailer while meeting all your needs of space and stowage at sea. Dealing with Mr. Robert Jackson has been a pleasure and has enhanced my boating experience. A true gentleman and superb craftsman."

"I was immediately impressed with the graceful lines and the outstanding finish of the Jaxon Craft boats. The performance on the water has been equally impressive. I have purchased two JXC 24 ‘s and they will form the foundation upon which” Northern Light” will be built. I have also found Robert cooperative and extremely helpful in all matters concerning the boats."

"The boat rocks. I've taken it into the worst and have never had a problem. I should have ordered a bigger one."
